There are a lot of you...  some working on your Black Belt, others your 1st Degree.  Your Test basically begins Now and I’m very proud of each and every one of you!

Here's the spot in the past where I've tried to post something to motivate you or help you get through the next 8 weeks.  This time I just want to make sure you truly understand what a Black Belt Really is!

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Wearing a Black Belt does not mean you are invincible... It means you never gave up, worked past the pain, overcame the disappointments, didn't cave into your doubts, faced your fears and learned enough to realize how little you actually know.

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

As you post here each week understand all the people behind you that you are inspiring.  And realize all the people around you that are cheering you on!

Best of luck to all!

Strength,

Seh Ssung

  1. So this morning was the first day of boot camp and I feel that I started the next six weeks off rather well. I got a 7:18 on my mile-run, so I don't think I need to worry too much about beating my previous time just as long as I keep running consistently. My push-ups need a bit of work, but overall I feel that I will do very well over the next few weeks and at the end I will definitely be prepared. BRING IT ON SIR!!!

  2. 1st day of boot camp. I knew it wouldn't be easy. I am glad to have my team mates with me, and I know I will get better at my planks by the time this is over. I hit the run at 8 minutes solid today.

  7. Today was hard and fun. I kind of enjoyed the exercise, even though my foot was giving me trouble. I'm still feeling tired. And hungry. I'm glad my classmates support me and I'm happy to support them.

  8. Boot Camp sure started out tough. I need to start working on my forms and mile run. Even though I know that Karate does Boot Camp to get me ready for my Black Belt Test, I will always take it as a challenge. Work hard candidates!

  9. The first boot camp is always a shock to my body no matter how hard I train for it! I do think that working out a lot has helped. My mile time is staying consistent and I feel as if my body was able to handle most of today's challenges. I am looking forward to getting faster and strong in the weeks to come. Good job everyone!

  11. First day of boot camp was tiring but fun. Dragging my partner was really hard for me, after I fell I started doing better with it. My run time bounces between 7.50 & 8.05 but overall I'm proud of my first day performance. Everyone keep giving your best & we'll all achive our goals. hsh

  12. First day of boot camp was as tough and physically challenging as expected. I did feel like I got a good workout and can feel myself getting more sore by the minute. Looking forward to the next boot camps and expecting the level of intensity to increase. Thank you to everyone for the motivation to help get us through the first boot camp day.

  13. The first boot camp was tough, but it felt good to make it through without giving up. The day really hit me after watching tv with the kids this evening it-was time to tuck them in and I started up the stairs and my legs were SORE. I will sleep well tonight! It was hard, but going through the experience with classmates who are supportive helps-thank you.

  16. We had our first boot camp yesterday. My mile run time was good and am looking forward to improving on my time. We started to review forms and self defense and am ready to increase my practicing at home to make sure I am ready for the test. Good job everyone!

  17. This first bootcamp was a difficult challenge to conqure but i did it. My mile time can and most certainly will improve over the remaning bootcamps. I am trainning every day for the path ahead of me. GOOD LUCK

  18. Our first bootcamp was challenging, but everyone was able to pull through. I made my mile in under 8 minutes, but still want to improve on my time. I know I need to work my self defenses and forms, and think I will be ready when testing time comes.

  19. The first boot camp was tough! Everyone was able to pull through and we all made it. My mile time needs some improving but I'm close. I also need to get used to doing running and exercises on Saturday mornings. See you all on monday!

  20. The first day of boot camp was tough but I managed to get through it.I got 7:47 on my run but I know I could do way better. It was pretty hard dragging Jadon 50 yards. I hope I could do better next boot camp. Good luck everybody.

  21. The first boot camp is always the hardest. My mile time was not the best but I will definitely try to improve by the end. I need to work on my push-ups and my plank because I almost gave up and I don't want to do that. I was proud of myself for making it through all the sprinting and dragging because even when I was really tired I pushed through. I hope to improve each time and good luck to everyone.

  22. The first day of bootcamp was challenging and I was up for the task. I felt I did well and am looking forward to the next bootcamp. Feeling a little sore which is always a good thing!! As Sensi Jonny says " time for a tune up!"

  23. BOOT CAMP IS BACK! As always boot camp is hard and challenging. I was disappointed that I got a 7:23 because my last run was a 6:36, but it's still pretty good. I will try harder next time to get a better time on my run. BRING IT ON!

  24. The boot camp was fun. We did a jog in a group for more than a mile. I think about 2 miles. During the run I tripped and fell and cut my knee and got dirt in it :( but I kept walking/jogging. It was really fun though and I had a great time!

    ReplyDelete
  25. The second day of boot camp was better than last week. I feel like I can do better from here onwards. I'm proud for doing the run with my group at an amazing pace. This week, I'm going to work on my squats. A big thanks to Nick for keeping me on track today. Bring it on, Sir!

  26. So far I would have to say that this was the hardest Boot Camp yet. Karate is definitely taking it to the next level. I’ll have to try harder if I want to make my 7 minute mile. This last Boot Camp will make the others look easy.

  27. Uuurgh.... I hurt. A great day at boot camp, though. A very nice run with the intervals as well. At the dojo, I was reminded of the things that I needed to work on: push-ups and black belt forms. All I have to do is practice them on a regular basis so I can be ready for the fast-approaching test.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Oh Man, This boot camp was a harder one, especially for the Candidates. 200 Squats is not as easy as it sounds. The 2 Miles was fun. Our group almost lapped that last group. We were working as a team, keeping a steady pace, and pushing/encouraging each other.

    ReplyDelete
  29. This boot camp was great!! I had so much trouble with the run, i need to be more considerate and not outpace my team. The push-ups, squats and sit ups were great. I Turn sideways when I do sit-ups. I thought it was amazing how much we could get done when we split the class to use 2 floors. I am giving boot-camp all of my focus and energy, it looks like i will not be able to make all 5/6 because of my band comps. School comes first. Bring it on Sir!

  30. Today was the 2nd bootcamp and i thought it was awesome because i loved the running i ran about 3 miles. My hardest challenge today was the 200 squats, Boy my legs felt like jello. I up for the challenged i will work more at home on my forms. I am a little nervous for the next weeks boot camp.

  31. I am starting to feel the soreness coming on. Today's boot camp went well and felt that the interval training will help get me to my mile time goal. It was good to see all of the teamwork and encouragement everyone was giving to one another. I definitely feel that I need to work more on my karate form and creative weapon, then continue to work on all of the Krav material.

  32. Today's boot camp was tough for me, but I kept pushing to make it through. I am going to keep running early in the morning to get my lungs used to the cold air. I need to work on my push ups this week and my form. I am also going to work on my 8 minute run. I will not let 6 seconds stop me. I thought the run today was good to help work on our endurance. Team work was also important for our run and that is always important to remember. Thank you to the black belts that helped us through the 200 squats!

  33. We have completed 2 bootcamps so far, and after this last bootcamp I realized how lucky I am. Don't get me wrong, bootcamps are always a chanllenge to get through, but I realized that my opportunity to do bootcamp style trainings every day have helped me prepare for my journey to Black Belt and beyond. I enjoyed doing the interval running during bootcamp and think it is good to switch things up every once in a while. While some struggled with the 20 minutes of running we all had to work together as a team and came out winners. The candidates had a tough job of completing 200 squats, but they all did it! As we move forward I hope that I am able to improve and maybe help someone else as well.

  34. While I missed this last bootcamp as I was not feeling well, I heard that everyone did a good job. I will be ready to be there next week and work hard on my run, forms and weapons.

    ReplyDelete
  35. This bootcamp had an unexpected twist. Instead of doing the timed mile we did 20 minutes of interval running, which I thought was helpful. I am practicing everyday to make sure I am sharp and know all my forms, weapons and self defense.I did 45 good push ups and hope to be at 50 by the next bootcamp. I also am looking forward to running my mile under 8 minutes this time.

    ReplyDelete
  36. This Bootcamp wasn't as difficult as I was expecting, but running the intervals was a bit of a challenge for me. I am currently fighting a stomach infection, so my performance abilities may be limited. Of course, I will always try my best, and this next bootcamp I hope I will be able to complete all of the tasks. Although I wasn't able to complete the running portion, I am proud of myself for pushing through until the end of the camp. Good Job to all of you for not giving up, and best of luck for what next week holds for us :)

  37. This boot camp was challenging, but I am happy with my performance. The interval runs were something new, but I appreciate their value in training. I was impressed with how the candidates performed and hope they do well on Tuesday.

  38. It was a tough day at boot camp. I'm all sore from running and doing squats and sit-ups. I felt like giving up, but my mom was there to encourage me. I can't wait until the next boot camp because the sooner it's done, the sooner it's over!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Boot camp was tough this week. Even though we didn't have to do a timed run, the interval run was harder than I thought it would be. I need to work on my concentration so I don't get confused when people around me do something differently. After boot camp I was really tired and sore but I know that this will help me get ready for the test.

  40. The second boot camp was tough but I loved the chain run that we did. I need to practice the knife and stick defenses. I also need to go over my weapons. Everyone did a great job!

  41. This second boot camp was great! I loved the interval runs (even though my hamstring was not happy after). I do need to work on all my forms and review my self defense and weapons. I feel good about my fight sets and krav self defense. I am looking forward to the next boot camps and ultimately the black belt test! Good job everyone!!

  42. The second boot camp was a little bit difficult but it pushed me to be my best. I loved the run with my group We ROCKED!!!

  43. Bootcamp#2 was very challenging especially the 200 squats. It definately made me have to push way out of any comfort zone of any type of training . I can feel the major conditioning our body's are going through with regular class during the week and when you top it off with a bootcamp for 2 hours it's a great thing. I am extremely sore right now and my legs are screaming at me. All in all I am ready to take on the next bootcamp challenge#3

  44. I want to thank everyone out there Saturday morning for supporting all of us out there it definately helps all of us keep on track and make us push harder to accomplish the goals for that morning . A special thanks to Kristy Roese for helping me push through the 200 squats it definitely got to a mental push for me to get through that challenge.

  45. The 2nd bootcamp was really tough. The 20 min of interval running was a lot different than last bootcamp, but it was good. Sorry Mr. Eric if I was not helping you when counting your squats, but I knew you could do it! Proud of my dad, he's doing great!
Still need to work on my fight sets! Good job everyone ...

  46. This 2nd boot camp was quite challenging for me. The intervals around the track were tough but I was proud that I kept going and we worked as a team. I was also glad that my asthma did not affect me so bad even with the dust flying around. At the Dojo there were more big challenges that I am glad I got through. The 200 squats killed my legs...I still feel like jello. I still have some work to do like the push-ups and plank but I know I am getting stronger. I will be curious about what the next boot camp will bring. Keep up the the great work everyone!

  48. Boot camp # 2 . I was very proud of my performance in the running drill we did on the track & I did not give up! Working as a team to get through it made me happy. Everyone did a great job pulling together to motivate each other to get through the 200 squats. Lets all work hard at our goal & keep doing your best. Go black belt candidates!

  49. You have just gone through 3 weeks of new material so now it’s up to you. Now the new stuff you have learned are Bricks in you Backpack! "Bricks in our Backpack"... is what my Seh Ssung liked to say to represent the weight of the skills that you learn.

Once an instructor teaches you a form, weapon, self-defense or anything, it now becomes your weight, your responsibility... your Brick in your Backpack to carry. As you learn more, more bricks are placed and you become stronger as you train these skills. But realize that they are your responsibility once they are passed on to you. You must bear the weight in YOUR backpack.

Repetition is the mother of all learning! Practice, Practice then Practice some more!

  50. I can't believe I did so well on my second boot camp. When I came to my second boot camp, I was ready to run like crazy. To my surprise, we did a team run and I think my team did pretty good. Two of the teammates wanted to quit but me and the others help bring their spirits up. Al right, two boot camps down and a ton more to go.

  54. Boot camp week 3
This week was very exciting for me! I have achieved my best overall time for the mile run 7.40. I really liked the two on one sparing. Having to run a second mile after the drills was very challenging but helps build endurance. Everyone is doing great! Thanks Shona for your inspiration during the run to help me achieve my best time ever!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Training for Boot Camp was hard especially with the sprints. I also have to start working on my Flag Form and self defenses like West Coast. Hope I can keep up on my training.

  56. Boot camp #3 was a good challenge and I can see how the running drills are helping everyone improve upon their running. I am going to try and work on my sparring techniques and feel that I can move around better. My goal is to improve upon my endurance to make sure I can make it through 15 rounds of sparring.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Boot camp number three was tougher than the first two for me. I have done a pretty good job controlling my breathing while running up to now, but the last mile run today was a challenge. I got scared and that made it worse, so I just focused on not giving up-thank you to those who helped me do that. I am going to continue running early in the morning this week to help acclimate my lungs. After getting injured at the dojo it was harder to focus. It took me a minute to reset, but once I did, I continued on. I was reminded that I need to stay focused while sparring and not getting frustrated. I look forward to this weeks training and continuing to push myself.

  58. This week's boot camp was full of surprises: two miles, wind sprints, and a flashback to the gun techniques. I was impressed with the candidates' performance and I look forward to next Saturday.

  59. week 3.......this weeks boot camp i think that was a little rough but i loved the running and the wind sprints. also the sparing was a little rough because i did 2 on 1 sparing:) good job to all black belt candidates!

  60. The third boot camp was great. I think that the extra mile run and wind sprints will help me get my best mile time. The extra practice with the gun and flag form was a big help.

  61. My own boot camp was definitely different than the regular one. The classes we did really pushed me. It was a total body work out and i know that it has pushed my endurance. I look forward to the run next week and hope that the cardio workouts I did this weekend will help with my run time. Good job everyone!!

  62. Bootcamp#3 was tough with me a little under the weather with a cold. I felt I really needed to pace myself in order to get through the field training and the dojo training. The extra five laps at a steady pace was a stamina increase for me after we completed the timed mile run. In the dojo I think I need to improve on my movement in sparring especially on making my offense and defensive skills more efficient and effective. I am definitely understanding the need to use the body's energy effectively and conservatively. I would like to say great job to everyone out there with me and to Joey it was great running the extra 5 laps with ya, you definitely turned up the heat at the end with power and energy awesome job. See you all on our next challenge Saturday .

  63. Bootcamp was not that easy. I was not expecting to run twice at the track. I know that I can do even better on the mile. It was different when we sprinted, did front rolls, and did cart wheels at the same time from other bootcamps. Nice work everybody!!!

    ReplyDelete
  64. Yesterday, boot camp was not as hard as last week. My dad watched me run. My time improved for the mile run. I am under 9 minutes! I knew most of my forms. It was nice to have my family cheer me on.

  65. During this bootcamp I was not at my best at the run. I only made a 5 second inprovement but She Ssung can count on this, I will get under 8 minutes during the next bootcamp. There are many thing i need to work on such as my forms and basiclly everything on the black belt test sheet. Lets see what She Ssung has up his sleeve next. BRING IT ON!!!

  66. While I was not at regular, I still completed a great training session. An hour of non stop punching and kicking a bag was exhausting. Am looking forward to the next bootcamp and hope to help Colin get his mile time down. Everyone can do it if they just Believe!

    ReplyDelete
  67. The last bootcamp was challenging. I ran my best mile time this bootcamp. I was not expecting to run another mile, but was happy that I did. I really liked the combo sprints, they were fun. Good luck to everyone and see you next bootcamp!!

  68. Boot camp was pretty hard this week. The hardest part was keeping my energy up after all the excercising and the second mile and then the work in the dojo. I was really worn out. I need to work on that a lot. But everyone did great. No one quit. I just need to work harder too.

  69. Boot camp was pretty hard this week. Coming off of a bad cold, with the cold weather and dusty track, my time was not very good. I was disappointed, but I plan to keep going and give it all I can. At the dojo I saw how I needed to work on my push-ups as well as practice the last parts of a few of my current forms. I will work as much as possible because I am determined to work for my belt. I am looking forward to the tournament next weekend. Good luck everyone!

  71. I still need to work on my mile but I'm happy with the pace I went at. I'm proud of what I did in the other parts of boot camp. Will keep working on the running.

  72. This weeks boot camp was short and sweet due to the fact that we had to compete in a tournament shortly thereafter. I still feel that we got in a good but messy workout. It was fun doing things a little out of the ordinary and getting down and dirty in the grass and mud.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Today's boot camp was tough as usual. I am having trouble with the cold air, so I am going to continue running long distances in the morning. I plan on working on my form and weapon so I can become more fluid even under pressure. It was great to see all the support during the tournament. Everyone did a great job today.

  77. Boot camp was pretty difficult this week. I enjoyed dragging Jadon through the mud. But I didn't like getting dragged through the mud. It was different having the tournament right after bootcamp. I'm very proud of myself by getting 2nd place in sparring. GOOD LUCK EVERYBODY

  78. Bootcamp #4
Was quite the challenge with all the drills we faced. I gave everything I had to get the best performance I can achieve for myself and to help push my fellow classmates to give their best as we'll. We all had to kick it up a notch with a tournament we had following the bootcamp. I feel I need to get more fluent with my creative form and try to remember my own name when I stand in front of the judges.

  79. Bootcamp this week was incredibly short, I had a lot of tough fun dragging Chalko down and sprinting back. On bootcamp number four i got my first mile time under 8 minutes for the past bootcamps and I plan to do so with the rest. Right after bootcamp we got the chance to go home and freshen up and then it was tournament time for the teens and adults. Which I did well in, since the case was that I was about the youngest but i still am proud of myself for getting 3rd place in self defense and second place in forms.

  80. Saturday we had an abbreviated bootcamp due to it also being tournament day. I am now confident in my ability to run an 8 minute mile, so my goal this was to help Colin run his mile in under 8 minutes. We both trained hard this week and I was happy that he reached his goal. We will both be continuing to work hard so we can keep improving our mile time. We were pretty dirty by the time we got done dragging our partner in the wet grass and dirt, but it wouldn't be bootcamp if we didn't have those experiences. Everyone did a great job at the tournament and we will see what next week brings!

    ReplyDelete
  81. The last bootcamp short but challenging. I have been happy with my mile times, but hope to reach a 7 minute mile at some point. We got pretty dirty after dragging our partner and falling to the ground, but it didn't bother me. I had fun at the tournament and everyone did great. I will be at the next bootcamp and am ready to bring it on.

  82. Boot camp #4
This boot camp was very challenging. I was happy it was short so we could prepare for our tournament. It was very frustrating for me because I was striving for a better time than last week but came in a second over last weeks time. 7:40 is still my best time. I thought the dragging drills were a little weird. I think everyone did a good job. Lets all keep doing our best. Two more boot camps to go!

    ReplyDelete
  83. Boot camp was okay. The worst part about it was we had to drag each other through the mud. My time was 8:01. It wasn't the best but it was a good improvment from my last time. Everyone is doing great. Really had a good time at the tournament helping out. It really helped me understand what I needed to do when it was my turn to compete. See you all next week.

  84. This boot camp wasn't one of my best. I tried a new way to run faster but it didn't work, but I was still fast. After that I had the tournament and I didn't do so well. Doesn't matter. There is still the next tournament and i'm still not done with boot camp . Happy Thanksgiving everyone

  85. week #4. everyone did great on there mile.. my mile time was 7:21......my hardest challenge was the body drags in the icy cold wet mud! Happy Thanksgiving and also all you guys overall did great in the tournament!!!

  89. I was excited to get an 7:52 on my run today. It was my first run under 8 minutes during our boot camps-probably in my whole life. I wanted to say thank you to everyone out there every Saturday morning.....the positive attitudes and encouragement have definitely helped. This week I really need to work on our sets in a group setting; I am having trouble getting distracted by people calling out moves around me. I also plan to work on my kicks so I can make my transitions flow better. We will be practicing breaking boards at out house this week for sure! It is hard to believe this was our 5th boot camp and the test is coming up very soon.

  90. Today's boot camp was great and I was excited to see Kristin get below 8 minutes on her mile. After going through the board breaking exercises I realized that I definitely need to practice at home. I cannot believe how fast the boot camps are going and we will be upon test time before we know it.

  91. 7:46 on the mile! Now I just need to work on my pushups and board breaking. Will practice really hard this week.

  92. Saturdays bootcamp was great. I was happy to see so many candidates improve on their mile run time. It is amazing how quickly the weeks pass. We worked on breaking boards and went over kick sets. I continue to practice at home with the boys and am happy that Colin was able to break some real boards tonight.

  93. I did fine on my mile nothing special. I need to work on holding the boards. I did great on all of the kicks that I tried, except for the spinning hook I need to work on lining the kick up. Everyone one is progressing through the days; 1 more boot-camp to go.

  94. I was really happy with my run time this week. When we went back to the dojo I was really happy that we got to break boards. Even though I had a hard time breaking the black boards, I was able to break some real board at home. I will continue to practice and run to so that I am ready for the test.

  95. The last bootcamp was good. I contine to run a fast mile and will keep on trying to improve. I will keep improving on my forms and work on the fight sets. Bootcamp is almost done and I will be ready to test in a few weeks.

  96. This boot camp went well. I will need to refine my breaks and work on my kick sets, but I feel confident about the upcoming test.

  98. Unfortunately I was unable to attend this boot camp. I hear that They have been practicing their board breaking. This vacation has been fun,but I have still been training. We had to hike up a mountain with an extra 10 pounds (easy) 3 mile hike up a mountain, 1 mile hike up another mountain, swimming against strong currents in the ocean that some people couldn't handle, In the pool trying to increase lung capacity and building strength swimming across a big pool. This vacation, now that I think about it, has been nothing but training. Many Times I have been tire, but I know that tired doesn't cut it. If you are tired and you go and rest on the couch you aren't training and getting any stronger. YOU are cheating your body and cheating yourself. It truly is up to you if you want to pass or not.

  99. Bootcamp#5 was great preparing for board breaks . After we ran our timed mile at the field it was great review back in the dojo on material we all can practice on especially for me the kick sets which is one of my needed reviews to brush up on . I will be practicing my push ups to achieve my needed reps and strength training to make everything more powerful. All in all I know my weakness to improve on.

  100. This weeks bootcamp was a little more rough than usual. It was Thanksgiving break so I wasn't keeping up on my push-ups with my dad... Bad choice..... I will work harder this week to improve them. Everyone is doing great, keep up the good work!

  101. I'm sorry I couldn't attend boot camp this last Saturday, guys. I had another important event that I needed to be at. I hope it was a good day of training and I will see you all for sure this Saturday.

  104. Boot camp #6
This was our last boot camp.
The cold weather really affected run times today. We all tried our best. I'm sure we'll all do better at the fitness test next week. We can do this everyone! Do your best! punching the heavy bag was really hard on my knuckles, attacking the bag was easier. The endurace required for today was quite a challange. See you all Monday.

  105. Made it through the last boot camp; now I need to focus on knowing all of the material inside and out. Now it is crunch time and through this experience I have a whole new respect for anyone with a black belt. The time, focus, and dedication involved in training for this test is substantial and everyone should be proud of the work done so far. Now is the time to dig a little deeper and make it to the end, good luck everyone.

  106. We completed the last run before the fitness test. For me the run was not what I was expecting from myself. I don't know if I messed myself up, by being hung up trying to get my jacket when the run started or if it just wasn't my day for running. Anyways, I never really found my own groove and was a little disappointed. My goal is to train hard this week and make sure I am ready for the physical test on Sunday. I need to especially work on my Black Belt Forms and reveiw self defenses. Good luck to everyone!

  107. This bootcamp was hardcore and extreme, at first it started like a normal bootcamp but it didn't seem like that at all when we reached the end of bootcamp. The track felt like a quicksand trap nut we all did a great job on the run. As the black belt test approches we will all be ready.

  108. The last boot camp was certainly an eventful one. The track was a nightmare--though it has been worse--and reviewing the forms and self-defenses and sparring was exhausting. Everyone performed admirably, however, and I myself ran a 6:00.52. I feel confident in my abilities and I am certain the other candidates will perform well at the test.

  109. Last day of bootcamp! I am proud of my progress but now it's time to get ready for the real deal. Bring it on Sir!

  110. This was our last bootcamp. Running the mile was harder than any other time I have ran it. After the run we went back to the dojo to practice self defenses and forms. Last we were hitting the bag multiple times and squatting, bear crawling, shoulder rolling around the bag. Good luck on the pretest everyone and good job!

  111. This last boot camp was a little difficult for me. I was disappointed in my run time. The cold weather didn't help but I think my issue with my hamstring is my biggest problem. I haven't been able to do any extra running, I was hoping that taking some time off would help but that hasn't been the case. I will do some interval runs this week hoping that will help. I also will really work my forms and go over all the testing material to be ready for the test.

  112. this boot camp was really cold. the weather made my run time slower. i will work hard to run faster next week. i will also work my forms so that I am ready for the test.

  113. Boot camp was really cold. I ran the mile in 8 minutes and 30 seconds. I could have done better, but had to stop because my chest was hurting a lot. This week I am going to really practice my forms and work hard. I'm glad boot camp is over, but now I'm nervous about the test. My mom says to just focus on doing my very best.

  114. The big day is almost here. I know I have to keep working as hard as I can with my training and practice during this home stretch so I can be as ready as possible for the day of the test.

  115. I can't believe the test is so close. The last boot camp was a tough one. I was proud I made it through all of them. I will be practicing until test day. I ran this morning, but only made it a little over a mile before I started to freeze up. I am looking forward to seeing how I do in the practice test.

  116. This morning I was incredibly happy to learn that I had finally passed my First Degree Black Belt test! After all that training, I know that I have definitely earned it. Thank you so much Seh Ssung and Sensei Johnny for teaching me what it takes to get to being able to earn this goal.
